What Our Clients Say About Us!

Our Usual Travel Route from Makkah to Madinah!

Our usual transport route from Makkah to Madinah is the Hijrah Highway (also called Highway 15). The journey takes approximately 5 hours and covers 435 km. The route’s name commemorates the journey of our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) from Makkah to Madinah with his companion Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA).

There are several points of significance and importance along the way, also known as Ziyarat. The most important and famous one is Ghar-e-Soor (Cave of Thawr), located on the southern side of Makkah. It is the cave where the Prophet (PBUH) and Abu Bakr (RA) hid for three days to avoid being captured by the Quraysh, who were pursuing them.

After that, there are many small rest and refreshment stations for travelers, including Al-Juhfah, which is also a Miqat station, where pilgrims must wear Ihram. Another significant stop is Al-Abwa, a village where the Prophet’s (PBUH) mother, Aminah bint Wahb, is buried.

As you approach Madinah, you will come across the Quba Mosque, the first mosque built in Islam. It is the nearest stop to Madinah. After this, you will finally enter the city of Madinah. Our taxi service is also available for travel from Makkah to Jeddah and Madinah to Makkah, ensuring a comfortable and reliable journey.

Why Madinah Matters?

Madinah (Madinah al-Munawwarah), known as the city of light, holds a place of immense significance in the heart of every Muslim. It is the city where Islam truly began to flourish after the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his followers made the pivotal migration known as the Hijrah. This migration marked the transformation of Islam from a persecuted faith to a thriving community. Madinah became the foundation for the Islamic state, where the principles of justice, equality, and brotherhood were established under the guidance of the Prophet (PBUH). It is in Madinah that the real journey of the Islamic kingdom began, setting the stage for the spread of Islam across the world.

Frequently Asked Questions?

Makkah, also spelled Mecca, and Madinah are two major destinations for pilgrims because of their rich Islamic history. Both cities hold the highest level of holiness for Muslims. While visiting Madinah isn’t mandatory for Umrah, most Muslims desire to see the city where the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) lived a significant part of his life.

Makkah, on the other hand, is essential for pilgrimage because it houses the Kaaba, and circumambulating (tawaf) the Kaaba is a central ritual of Umrah and Hajj. After completing their rituals in Makkah, many pilgrims, whether performing Umrah or Hajj, travel to Madinah to visit the Prophet’s Mosque and explore historical sites known as Ziyarat.

The best way to travel from Makkah to Madinah ultimately depends on your personal priorities, including your budget, desired comfort, and travel schedule. Each option has its own advantages:

  • Taxi Service: This is the most comfortable and convenient option. A private taxi offers a direct, door-to-door service without any stops, allowing you to travel at your own pace. While it is more expensive than other options, it is ideal for families, individuals with heavy luggage, or those who prioritize a stress-free journey.
  • Haramain High-Speed Railway: The high-speed train is the fastest and often the most economical option. However, it may not be the most viable choice for the elderly or families, especially during rush hours, as it can be crowded and requires travel to and from the train stations.
  • Bus Service: The bus is a budget-friendly alternative. While buses are a good option for travelers on a tight budget, they operate on a fixed schedule. You must arrive at the bus station on time to avoid missing your journey, which can be a concern for some pilgrims.

Our prices are generally fixed at the time of booking. However, rates may be subject to change during peak seasons, such as Hajj and Ramadan, due to higher demand. We recommend booking in advance to secure your fare.

You can book either a one-way or a round-trip transfer. The price for a round trip can be more cost-effective during off-peak seasons. During peak times, if a driver cannot wait for you, a full-day booking or separate trips may be required, which would be priced differently.

Yes, it is absolutely possible. Many significant Ziyarat sites, such as Ghar-e-Soor (Cave of Thawr), are located along the route. Please note that incorporating these stops will require an adjusted route and additional waiting time, which will be reflected in the final price.
